Media & Communication

Personal statement

Hi, my name is Tré Clarke and I am a Media and Communications student at Birmingham City University, due to graduate in July 2020. During my three years at BCU I studied as a broad course student, allowing me to explore a variety of avenues within the Media Industry. I have undertaken a wide range of modules, which include: Events & Exhibition Production, Visual Communication, DIY Music Cultures, Creative Camera & Race, Ethnicity and the Media.

For my final year project I had planned to host a charity fundraiser called #KICKBACK4MSA. The event would have be an interactive games night however due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the legislation that was passed the event was unable to take place. This was highly disappointing as I was finally using my knowledge and experience within the events industry to host an event off of my own back.

Upon completion of my degree my plan is to obtain my PGCE and become and qualified teacher whilst building on/developing my skills as a media practitioner. Over the next few years I would like to establish my own brand of events and gain some more experience on the marketing side within the Music Industry.
