I am a final year student at Birmingham City University studying BA Media Production. Over the past three years I have worked on numerous student television projects in a wide variety of production and editorial roles. The projects range from a mental health awareness talk show to live magazine. Alongside these university module projects, I am also a part of Scratch TV, BCU's student television society and have been Assistant Station Manager for just over a year. I have produced a wide range of content for Scratch such as interviews with musicians at some of Birmingham's most popular venues and coverage of the university's annual welcome events.
I am looking to pursue a career in the television industry with particular interest in the roles of Producer and Studio/Location Director. I am currently looking for entry level roles.
Mental health awareness is something which is incredibly close to my heart, I am currently a member of BCU's Mental Health Awareness society. Therefore I intend to create content and campaigns surrounding this subject during my time working in the industry.
As well as having experience in the production side of media, I have also undertaken theory and academia work in relation to media studies. I initially enrolled onto BA Media and Communication before moving over to Media Production at the beginning of year two. During the first year I undertook textual and audience analysis work on subjects relating to television studies. I am currently writing my dissertation where I've conducted a virtual ethnography looking into audience responses to ITV's The X Factor.
Thank you and please feel free to take a look at my work. My CV is also available for you to download.
