I am a confident and outgoing undergraduate Media and Communications student currently in my final year of study at Birmingham City University. Whilst at University my interests and studies have focused around the music industry, gender and sexuality and I aim to use what I have learnt to direct my career.
Having worked in events and marketing for a year prior to attending University I have wealth of experience which has benefited me both at University and whilst working alongside my degree. My current position is a Box Office / Customer Service assistant at The Ticket Factory and I aim to go full time and continue working to develop my career within the events / music industry after completing my degree.
As well as working within the industry, I heavily involve myself in the music scene within Birmingham by constantly attending local gigs. Having lived in Birmingham for a few years I know a wide range of people within the industry and I am always looking to network with new people.
Exhaler is an 'art-rock experiment from the Midlands exuding glistening melodies, lurching riffs and laments to being lost in space'. I have been a member of Exhaler since it first started in Year 7. Since then our sound has changed and we take inspiration from the neo-psychedelia of Wand, Pond and Post-animal, to the doom of the Melvins, the crunch of Queens of the Stone Age and the edged alt-rock of Pixies and the Wytches. Our band gig regularly around Birmingham and have recently started to secure a few more gigs in cities such as London and Bristol. Exhaler is independent and strictly DIY, we do everything – writing, recording, mixing, mastering, releasing – ourselves.
Abyssal Orbit EP:
During the summer of 2019, Exhaler released our first professionally done EP - Abyssal Orbit. Throughout the year we had worked hard to record all instruments and vocals whilst balancing University, jobs and other aspects of our lives. Being completely self-funded, we have worked hard as a band and are extremely happy with how it has turned out. The EP has 5 original tracks and is available to listen to on all major streaming services and I have also linked our Spotify and Band-camp profiles under the section - socials. After the success of the first EP, Exhaler are currently working steadily on a full length album which is due to come out some time during late 2020/early 2021.
Uncl Chump is something exciting currently in the works. It is a start up collective where people can all come together to collaborate and use each others skills to benefit one another. Within the collective we have musicians, photographers, sound engineers and graphic designers who are all happy to help. Uncl Chump is currently creating social media, websites and a back catalogue to launch with so ... watch this space.
