Hi, I am Katherine! I study journalism and visual design within my Media and Communications degree and have a keen interest in branding and visual identity, poster design, illustration and independent magazines
My main area of interest is graphic design and I love creating designs for other brands or working on design experiments for my online brand, Correani Designs. I have volunteered as a graphic designer for a medical charity in Devon and worked as a freelance designer the whole three years of my degree, building my portfolio in hope to gain a job in London as a Junior Graphic Designer after I graduate.
I would best describe myself as a hard-working, driven and passionate individual and I chose to specialise in graphic design as it's what I love to do and from working as a design intern with the PR department of St Luke's Hospice and as a freelancer, I have gained a collection of new skills and confidence in my ability to create professional content.
For my final project, I am creating a magazine focused around empowerment through art with a range of artist and writers sharing their stories of empowerment or how they have been empowered by art. For my dissertation, I will be analysing the effects immersive journalism and 360-degree video has on the portrayal of the refugee crisis in the news.
If you would like to get to know more about me, take a look at my portfolio or simply get in touch, feel free to look at my website or follow me on social media.
