Charis Pardoe

Media & Communication

Personal statement

Hi there, I’m Charis! I’m a 3rd year Media and Communications student specialising in Radio, due to graduate summer 2019.

I began my journey in radio as a producer on my Sixth form’s station ASA Radio, before moving over to present on Scratch Radio BCU’s student station. Throughout my time at university I have volunteered at several local stations, as well as go on to create audio packages for radio, a documentary and radio advert campaigns. As part of a final year radio module, myself and 39 other students were tasked with creating a new station for Birmingham. We created FADE Radio, and as part of this I became the stations marketing manager, and worked on the branding of the station and creating the campaigns for the stations launch.

Although I specialise in radio, my interests do not finish there…

I have a keen interest in news reporting. I have showcased this interested through working with publications such as ASA Today, in partnership with Cheltenham Echo, and Birmingham Eastside. I am also interested in researching at female representation within the media, and am currently writing my dissertation based on this.

Please take some time to explore my website and take a look at my work.
