A Music Industries Specialist studying on the Media & Communications Course at Birmingham City University.
Having little to no experience in the media, let a lone the music, industries before starting university I was unaware of where I actually wanted to end up career wise but my time on the course enabled me to see which direction I wanted to go in.
After just one year I found myself fully emerged in the local music scene as a facilitator rather than just the consumer I had been for years. This is due to the extended time that I have spent working for Sonic Gun Concerts, a local but successful music promotions company. Through Sonic Gun I have worked in venues of all sizes throughout Birmingham and worked with artists & musicians from all around the world.
I came into this course primarily as a musician and singer-songwriter, and my experience on the Music Industries pathway of the Media & Communication course has provided me with a much deeper perspective on my role as a musician within the music industries. Now in my third year, I'm currently completing my dissertation on digital technology in the songwriting and creative processes, a subject that encompasses much of what I do outside of university.
Shortly into my first year, my hobbies in photography and videography found me my first industry job as a behind the scenes content creator for the artist Dan Owen, which saw me creating content for Atlantic Records and The Orchard. This has lead to my current role as a session musician and content creator on tour with Dan, along with directing numerous music videos and promotional photography for other artists such as Deyyess and Just Jack, and events such as Lunar Festival (an example music video you can view above). My professional portfolio can be viewed here: https://www.louiscoupe.com/photo-videography.
Musically, I write with numerous songwriters and producers, predominantly based in London, and wish to further my career in session and songwriting work. An important milestone in my career will be the release of my debut single (due in April) and my debut EP, a project I have produced in conjunction with my final year project - this also serves as my first release under my own name as an artist. I have tried to draw together all of my skills and media interests, and have artistically directed the whole project, from the promotional photography, direction of music videos and online content, along with the song-writing and production.

Made in Wales
Taylor Lewis lingerie targets women of ALL sizes. High street price but high end quality, handcrafted in Wales.
Because lingerie is hidden does not mean it should be forgotten.
Initial research for Made in Wales began when researching welsh designers, influences, materials, crafts and other traditionally welsh attributes. This laid the foundation for this spring/summer 2018 collection. Weaving patterns, prints and hand embroidery work has emerged from welsh crafts, welsh artists and welsh photography. The aim for the collection was for each piece to have a handmade and craft like feel, and not like it was mass produced. One of the main focuses of this collection was to modernize Wales. To recognize the target market and to be sure this collection would appeal to them. Taking inspiration from lingerie reports, the silhouettes will remain current and youthful making this brand trend driven and perfect to showcase the traditional side of Wales through fashion.
