About:
Hello, and welcome to my profile, my name is Destiny and I'm currently in my third year due to graduate in July 2019. I am creative, determined and a passionate individual aiming to pursue a career within the field of journalism.

During my time at University, I have attained an array of skills that have allowed me to create and produce my own content including print and videography. I have also developed my skills in team building in the first and second year to create TV shows and news broadcasts.

I have gained work experience in journalism, social media and marketing, including Desiblitz, ITV, BirminghamEastside, Anitox and Whisper PR. All of which has given me skills and helped me develop as a journalist, preparing myself for full-time work after graduating.

I am also passionate about photography, having started university with no experience as a photographer or no idea of how to use a DSLR camera, I have gained so much knowledge and now use my Canon 750D confidently for both photography and videography. My editing skills have also progressed, I created both a print and video lookbook for my third-year visual design and was happy with the results despite having no experience in video editing prior to the module.

After building up a good contact book following my work experience whilst studying at university I have connections with companies ranging from local PR companies to content editor at ITV Birmingham, all of which have given me guidance of how to find the right job for me and also what that job entails. I am confident that the skills I have attained both at university and work experience will undoubtedly help me pursue a career within journalism. I will start by searching online at job adverts specifically tailored to graduate journalists and over the three years of studying I have built an array of content for my portfolio to show to a potential employer.

For my final year project I have created a beauty and lifestyle blog aimed at beauty fanatics, with all of the latest tips and makeup hacks, as well as reviews of makeup products. The blog is called Destiny, I decided to name it after myself to give it a personal touch so that viewers could see my content as authentic and honest. I also wanted to replicate industry standard and most blogs are named after the blogger. At first, my blog included an array of content including fashion, beauty, lifestyle and travel. So I decided to make the content more beauty-focused with lifestyle as a second category so that I could publish any non-beauty related content there.

Driven, creative and persistent are all words I would use to describe myself. I am a self-motivated individual with an advanced skillset across several media departments including journalism, television, radio and PR.

During my three years at university I have gained a huge amount of knowledge about the media industry as well as being able to create my own content including hundreds of news article across a variety of different formats both broadcast and print. I have also worked as part of a team in both second and third year to create live and pre-recorded television and radio shows.

I have gained work experience in journalism, TV, radio and PR to mention a few companies: BBC Look East, Birmingham Mail, Markettiers, Aira, Eastern Daily Press and London Northwestern Railway. Alongside work experience I have worked as a freelance journalist for three years and gain coverage of my own stories across several different online newspapers including Press Gazette, Birmingham Mail / Live, Eastern Daily Press and the Northampton Chronicle & Echo. I worked as a Broadcast Assistant for BBC Radio Northampton during the summer of 2018 which allowed me to learn and develop as an industry professional whilst getting paid to do so!

I am passionate about data, which is something I only learnt in my final year of studying, and I have learn how to use data in a variety of different ways in order to develop news worthy, accurate content as well as developing PR campaigns based on different data sets.

For my final year project I have created a news website that is targeted towards commuters. The website is called Interurban News and covers a range of topics including travel, entertainment, food, technology, crime and more. I wanted to create a news website that was different to anything else out there, so by making my content really specific, to a commuting audience, I was able to create something unique and informative.

As a hobby I like to create travel videos of where I have been around the world. I use industry standard equipment such as GoPro and the DJI Mavic drone as well as using iMovie to edit which allows me to showcase my editing and filming skills. Check out my latest travel videos on my youtube channel!

TITLE: Made in Wales

Taylor Lewis lingerie targets women of ALL sizes. High street price but high end quality, handcrafted in Wales.
Because lingerie is hidden does not mean it should be forgotten.
About:
Initial research for Made in Wales began when researching welsh designers, influences, materials, crafts and other traditionally welsh attributes. This laid the foundation for this spring/summer 2018 collection. Weaving patterns, prints and hand embroidery work has emerged from welsh crafts, welsh artists and welsh photography. The aim for the collection was for each piece to have a handmade and craft like feel, and not like it was mass produced. One of the main focuses of this collection was to modernize Wales. To recognize the target market and to be sure this collection would appeal to them. Taking inspiration from lingerie reports, the silhouettes will remain current and youthful making this brand trend driven and perfect to showcase the traditional side of Wales through fashion.
